About Us
Clearwater Enterprises, Inc. is a Minnesota Corporation doing business under the name "Clearwater Travel Plaza." Clearwater Enterprises, Inc. is owned and operated by the Nelson family. On August 31, 1976, Clearwater Travel Plaza officially opened for business.
Our purpose is to operate a full service travel center that provides consumers from a variety of sectors with food, fuel, clothing and gifts, and information. Clearwater Travel Plaza, through our many services, meets the diverse needs of professional truck drivers, local residents and tourists alike.
Some of our facilities most important areas are:
- The Nelson Bros. Restaurant and Bakery, serving hearty, homemade food in generous portions.
- The Food Court, comprised of the Nelson Bros. Coffee Outfitters, a bakery and ice cream bar, and a gourmet sandwich shop. The Food Court caters to a wide variety of tastes, serving everything from monster caramel rolls and handmade artisan bread to espressos and lattes to our famous Nelson Bros. Fritter Bread.
- The General Store, complete with Northbound Books, provides an extensive array of high quality, reasonably priced merchandise including health & beauty products, medicines, convenience items, reading material, and traveling necessities.
- Minnesota Reflections, our gift shop filled with hand-crafted items and beautiful clothing, including Carhartt, offers only the best in Northwoods fashions and collectibles.
- The Fuel Center, designed specifically to meet the needs of commercial truck drivers, provides high-speed fuel pumps, laundry facilities, and a driver's lounge.
- Voyager's Video Games, filled with electronic games and other entertainment, is always a popular stop for fun for our customers of all ages.
