Position: Part-Time Catering Assistant
Description: Responsible for assisting with all aspects of a catering event, which could include: set-up, prepping food, cooking food, serving, and/or clean-up. Must represent CTP and Nelson Bros. Catering professionally, making the food, service, and entire experience the "Obvious Choice". Most catering events take place on the weekend so this is a great job for anyone who is looking to make a little extra money and be able to choose when you are able to work! No experience necessary.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Responsible for set-up and tear-down of work areas for all catering events, including prep tables, serving tables, equipment, food, utensils, and any applicable signing and décor.
Must be able to take, give, and follow-through on delegated tasks. Be able to prioritize. Every catering event is different and may require different tasks and timelines, requiring flexibility and willingness to do whatever is needed.
Maintain knowledge of recipes, portion sizes, & correct cooking procedures as well as knowing food costs and the financial impact of waste and over-portioning.
Create high-quality food, following proper food safety procedures, proper recipes, and proper plate presentation.
Deliver exceptional customer service. Understand you are always “on stage” when catering, and all language and behavior demonstrates “Obvious Choice” and “Servant Leadership”. Be professional.
Be self-motivated, proactive and productive while working, making yourself, the team, and Nelson Bros. Catering the Obvious Choice.
Communicate with supervisor, staff, and customers/guests in a positive and professional manner.
